Hey guys, been awhile! Recently in my spare time I've been messing around with more stylized textures inside of Substance Designer. This is the first one I've felt proud enough to show. Thanks to Josh Lynch and David Schultz for their awesome feedback.
It's been a lot of fun trying to figure out how to do stylized assets inside of Substance Designer. I've come up with a few new techniques to help. For instance, I couldn't figure out how to do the placements of the rivets proceduraly. They had to be placed manually. At first I was manually placing the rivets via Transform-2D but that took too much time and made my graph a mess. I ended up creating a Tile Sampler that tiled the rivets 48x48 across the entire surface and then used SVG masks (which I could manually paint in SD) to mask in and out which rivets I wanted. Now it's super easy and super quick to put a rivet wherever I want! In the future, I might try the same technique for the gashes, they were manually placed too
